1.Lonavala Lake
Lonavala Lake is located in the State Maharashtra. Constructed in the year 1876, river Inrayani is the source of water for this lake. The TATA Electric Company initiated the project to conserve the enivorment areas of Valvan and Shirota reservoirs. It is popularly known as the monsoon lake, as this lake is filled with water during the monsoon months and dries up during the winter season. 4.Lohagad
Lohagad fort is about 20 km from the town. Once you arrive, you need to climb up the hill to see the fort. You would love to visit this place if you are an adventurer and trekking freak. Karta caves are 4-5 km ahead of Lohagad fort.

5.Shree Naryani Dham
It’s a marvellous place, with huge area with fountains. A huge very clean and open hall made of choice marble, having three individual temples, the main central one of goddess Narayani devi, and one of Ganeshji and another is Salasar Hanumanji. All three are beautiful. Pandits at each are ready to bless you with chanting of mantras.The hall has painting on its ceiling and carved marble pillars, and lots of chairs for visitors to sit in very serene surroundings.The area has buildings and few cottages for those who wish to stay in the complex for a few nights, at a very nominal rate. The approach is from the road to Valvan dam, with indicative direction boards. A really worthwhile place to visit and spend some time when in Lonavala.

6.Tikona fort
The fort is a trekking destination near Lonavala, about 25 km from Lonavala, it takes about 1 hour of taking to reach the fort hill, it’s a very scenic hill fort. Be careful of the hill roads.This place is purely for the trekkers. Quick trek to the top of the mountain. The view is just amazing from the top. I would suggest pack your picnic and water because no food is available in nearby location.Awesome point to trek and a night stay too. Can go till the base via bus or car or bike. Parking space is there at the base. Carry basic things for trekking, food, water, torch, proper shoes, etc. You can stay in the cave at the top. There is a temple there, and one gets a wonderful view of the Pavana dam.

7.Bushy dam
Bushy dam is situated near Lonavala, road leading to which are snakey and worth driving. One has to cross a pond like stretch to reach bushy dam so wear only slippers. Do not wear shoes. Alternatively slippers are available on rent.Bushy dam has a reservoir and water flows through a number of steps giving it a beautiful and refreshing look. Carry extra pair of clothes if one wants to indulge in bathing.Overall worth visit, especially during Monsoon.

8.Valvan lake
The site is located in Valvan village, about 2 km away from Lonavala market The valvan lake is in the middle of a beautiful valley and is very scenic. The best part is that if you visit the lake during working days, it is not crowded at all and that is when the lake is very beautiful. 9.Tungari lake
Tungarli Lake is an artificial reservoir with a small lake and dam, which was built in 1930, during the British era. The lake is a major source of drinking water to the residents of the hill station and also helps in the irrigation of the Rajmachi region. Recently, this lake has been transformed into a recreational picnic spot with resorts all around the place. There are various trekking and backpack camping facilities near the lake. From the cliff top, views of some celebrity bungalows, hotel Laguna and the entire Lonavala city are available. It is located north of the state transport bus stand near Tungarli village in the hills in Sahyadri ranges. The lake is approachable through small rough roads of the village.

11.Koli temple or ekvira devi temple
the Koli Temple is the place of worship of the Koli fishermen community in and around Lonavala. The temple consists of three west side facing shrines built in a row, which are surrounded by sixteen shrines of additional parivara devatas. Koli Temple is mainly known as Ekvira Devi. Ekvira Devi is on a hill top and we have to climb 300 steps from bottom. However cars reached half way there we have to climb 150 steps. However it is almost crowed on Sunday there is a heavy traffic and hundreds of vehicle are there . Park is available.

Morvi Dongar is a lush green region of Lonavala, which is spread between the Tung Fort and Devgad. The loaction is situated at one side of the Pawna Lake, adjoining the Kathingad. No. Of trekking routes lead to this location, which is the starting point of various other treks to Tung Fort and other nearby sites. This site is covered with dense forests, which nestles several species of birds, animals, flora and fauna. To reach Morvi Dongar, tourists can opt for buses from Lonavala to Ambavne and alight at Gushalgaon or Tungwadi, from where they can proceed to this beautiful hillock.

A good spot for photography, Devi Temple is there along with the cave which is a must see. The caves have a black coating on the wall which in the photos are fascinating to see. Bhaja is an important Buddhist centre consisting of 22 excavations and located on a hill near Village Bhaja in Lonavala, so same are called Bhaja Caves. But you have to climb about more than 300 steps which are of almost of 1 feet each and you have to climb for almost 1 hour which is tiring. But a nice place of our great architecture heir ship.
